Custom hanging shelf

If you want to plan a solid and secure hanging shelf, we recommend our solid wood types as well as our plywood. Both wood types are particularly resilient and are therefore ideally suited for a floating shelving.

The wall should definitely be straight and solidly built (ideally made of stone or concrete). The holes for the wall brackets should be drilled as straight as possible, which will make it much easier for efficient installation.

In principle, back panels can be selected from Pickawood Europe in the online configurator, but these cannot be combined with a wall mounting.

Our wall suspension is integrated into the vertical cheeks of hanging shelves and has a maximum load-bearing capacity of 60 kg per cheek. The total load-bearing capacity is therefore calculated by the complete number of cheeks * 60 kg. The load capacity refers to the maximum load of the item weight plus any decorative artifacts or objects. Please note that for particularly tall pieces of furniture with doors, the product weight can already take up a large part of the load capacity. There is little difference between a hanging shelf and a hanging sideboard. Basically, the pieces of furniture only differ in their use. For example, shelves are more often used for books or for storage with more storage space, while sideboards are more decorative and are used less as an extensive storage solution.

A combination of materials is feasible with some exceptions, so it isn't necessary to decide on one material for your hanging shelf. You can plan structures and fronts in the configurator in different materials according to your tastes. A popular choice, for example, is combinging and oak structure with a coloured varnished drawers.

There are different ways to arrange your books in your hanging shelf. For example, you can sort the books by colour, which is soothing to the eye. If this does not appeal to you you may prefer to keep your wall-mounted shelf simple. You can also arrange the order by alternately placing a few books vertically and horizontally in your wall shelf. In addition to books, decorative elements such as figurines, vases or small plants can also be placed on a shelf. Choose colours that match the room.

We offer a total of 11 types of solid wood in various oil finishes as well as real wood veneers. These can be selected and ordered directly in the configurator alongside our other materials. These types of wood can also be combined with other types of finishes, e.g. in white.

Our customers often opt for a white shelf. That's why we offer various white coatings and varnishes. But black and grey finishes are also frequently ordered.
