Interior fittings of the built-in furniture

Customised fitted furniture offers flexible options for interior fittings. Elements such as clothes lifts, clothes rails, interior drawers, LED lighting and trouser hangers can be combined as required. This customised design makes it possible to make optimum use of the storage space and adapt the piece of furniture to personal requirements. Clever interior fittings make everyday life easier, while modern LED lighting creates a stylish ambience. Perfect for tidy and organised storage.

The plinth of your fitted furniture

With Pickawood UK, the plinth of a built-in wardrobe can be customised. You can flexibly select the plinth height between 7 and 14 cm to perfectly adapt the wardrobe to your room conditions. An integrated height adjuster ensures that uneven floors can be easily levelled out. It is also possible to plan a recess for skirting boards to integrate the wardrobe seamlessly into the room. The result is a customised piece of furniture for your home.

Plan and order online: Customised fitted furniture

Space is precious. That's why we manufacture high-quality built-in furniture that blends seamlessly and harmoniously into your living environment. In contrast to free-standing models, built-in shelves and cabinets are connected to the stairs, walls or ceiling. They therefore form a single unit with the room surroundings. You can use the online configurator to select the required dimensions and choose decors and trim strips in the colour of your choice. In this way, you can create customised solutions that perfectly match the respective room situation.

Areas of application for customised furniture

The classic is the built-in wardrobe. With its help, dead spaces under the stairs or the sloping roof can be utilised effectively. This type of recess cabinet saves space, creates new storage space and makes cleaning easier by removing hard-to-reach areas that are prone to dirt accumulation. Customised built-in furniture allows you to make full use of the available space. In addition, customised furniture is the ideal design element for a harmonious living room ambience. For example, built-in wardrobes can be used as room dividers and fitted with doors. The use of niche shelves and cupboards creates a seamless transition to the rest of the furnishings and creates additional storage space. They can be customised to the millimetre. Customised fitted furniture built around corners is also available on request.

Order made-to-measure fitted furniture online: How it works

Every room is individual and unique. This also applies to our fitted furniture. Regardless of whether you order a wardrobe or shelving unit, it always starts with our modern 3D configuration. Using the 3D configurator, you can design your personalised pieces of furniture online by entering the respective dimensions for width, depth and height with centimetre precision. You also choose the material and decor.

The choice of materials

The built-in furniture is made of robust solid wood, multiplex or panelled materials with a coated or lacquered surface or with a real wood veneer. You can choose from a total of twelve types of wood, for example walnut, maple, birch, oak, cherry and pine. Alternatively, you can choose a medium-density fibreboard, or MDF for short. This material is very stable and is therefore ideal for making niche shelves that are loaded with books, for example. The surface is either matt or glossy. You can choose your favourite shade from over 200 attractive RAL colours. This allows your built-in furniture to blend harmoniously into your living space. Do you like a natural look? Then order the furniture with a real wood veneer. A thin layer of wood is applied to a medium-density fibreboard. This gives the product a deceptively real wood look. At the same time, you benefit from the high stability of the medium-density fibreboard and also opt for a compromise in terms of price. With a surface made of mahogany, teak, walnut, cherry, oak or maple, you can give your piece of built-in furniture an elegant touch. Premium décor also offers practical advantages. The decors are lighter and ideal for making larger pieces of furniture. The delivery time for this type of built-in furniture is generally shorter. The last material to choose from is multiplex. The material consists of several layers of glued birch wood and is extremely stable.

Clever additional options

In addition to entering the length, width, height, material and colour, other factors also play a role. In addition to the external dimensions, you specify the compartment and column layout during configuration. There are also numerous interesting options for the interior fittings. These include, for example, clothes lifts, clothes rails, trouser racks and lighting. As an option, you can obtain the corresponding 2.5 centimetre thick trim strips for your made-to-measure built-in wardrobe. These close off the unit to the ceiling and sides without any gaps. Don't forget to subtract three centimetres on all sides for the installation gap. The shadow gap can be easily closed with acrylic.

Is there help with planning and configuring the built-in furniture?

You will receive free advice if required. You can reach us during regular business hours on working days by e-mail, telephone or via the contact form. Our expert consultants in the planning offices in Berlin and Hamburg can also help you directly on site.

Who makes the customised built-in furniture?

Pickawood UK works with carefully inspected and certified joineries in Germany and Poland. These are subject to strict monitoring by specialised wood engineers. There are now more than ten production partners. Many of the joineries are owner-managed traditional companies.

Do I have to design the built-in furniture completely myself?

Many customers take the opportunity to put together their own customised design. However, you can also use our pre-constructed models. These are based on the designs of our specialised furnishing experts. With just a few clicks, you can adjust the dimensions and add further details.

What happens after I order customised furniture?

The configuration process is based on state-of-the-art technology. After the order data has been translated into machine-readable CAD construction plans, the online order arrives at the joineries. They manufacture the furniture to your specifications with millimetre precision.

Where does the wood for Pickawood UK's built-in furniture come from?

The wood used to make the customised furniture comes from sustainable forestry in Europe.
